Notable features include:

2D and 3D CAD

2D and 3D CAD AutoCAD works on a wide range of computer platforms including Mac and Windows PCs, including Windows 8.1, 8, 7, Vista, XP, 2000 and Me (Windows 3.1 or later), Linux, IBM-compatible and Sun Solaris.

Interface AutoCAD has an intuitive and easily learnable user interface (UI). In 2015, Tim Smith of Business Insider named AutoCAD the most user-friendly commercial software application available. AutoCAD’s user interface (UI) was created and developed by designer Roger Tomlinson.

AutoCAD history

History AutoCAD was initially developed as a replacement for the older CAD application known as GRAPHICS. Both GRAPHICS and AutoCAD were developed in the 1970s and 1980s by the same team. The first version of AutoCAD was released in December 1982 as a desktop app running on microcomputers with internal graphics controllers. Before AutoCAD was introduced, most commercial CAD programs ran on mainframe computers or minicomputers, with each CAD operator (user) working at a separate graphics terminal. AutoCAD was initially developed to use the built-in high-resolution display drivers found on Apple II and Commodore 64 microcomputers. Apple II users noticed that a natively-compiled version of AutoCAD for the Apple II computer outperformed the version running on a Mac. The version that ran on Apple II computers used a compressed version of the Apple II’s built-in frame buffer, providing 2-1/2 times the memory. The Apple II version of AutoCAD eventually found its way onto other platforms.

The original AutoCAD 1.0 release was built with three DOS platforms (PC DOS, MS-DOS and DR DOS), with Apple II and Mac versions available in 1984. In 1987, Mac versions of AutoCAD 1.5 and 2.0 were released, and a version of the software for the Atari ST platform was released in 1987. The first UNIX version of AutoCAD, running on System V Release 3.0, was released in 1987.

In 1987, AutoCAD was replaced by DRAW/A, a cross-platform graphic and drafting application.

A series of updates followed the DRAW/A release, including AutoCAD

Model Centric Approach :-
AutoCAD Activation Code LT has an embedded programming language called Model Centric Language (MCL) which allows the user to write programs that perform an operation on a CAD model or an individual element of a CAD model. It has the ability to read and write R13 files that contain the SCNCAD data structure.

What’s New in the AutoCAD?

Multiple levels of code reuse: See how to use markup from a previous drawing and reuse it in your current project, and learn how to put existing code in a library and reuse it, even in a completely new project. (video: 8:10 min.)

New smarts:

Automatically calculate and maintain the width and height of drawing elements, and use the new Markup Link and Ruler tools to create “magic” measurements. (video: 1:42 min.)

Easily align a shape to a specific position in the drawing, by just typing in a measurement. (video: 0:28 min.)

Quickly match and align shapes or blocks, simply by typing in the specific anchor. (video: 0:48 min.)

Quickly create custom objects from blocks and other objects, with just a few clicks. (video: 0:31 min.)

Advanced Guided Import:

Drag and drop toolbox files directly from other drawings into your AutoCAD drawing. (video: 1:29 min.)

Find additional tools for each drawing template, with the AutoCAD Gallery. (video: 1:55 min.)

Use the new Insight Toolbar to bring additional tools to your fingertips, even while drawing. (video: 1:22 min.)

Improvements in the AutoCAD Edge Environment

New tabbed workspace: Each workspace can now be its own tab in the workspace switcher. Workspaces can be restored to a single tab, or multiple tabs, or multiple windows. (video: 1:16 min.)

Tool shelf: Replaces the previous toolbar. Contains tools that can be easily reached and used. The main view of the tool shelf and the workspace switcher are now independent. (video: 1:02 min.)

Perspective, orthogonal, and freehand tool preferences: Create new views of the 2D drawing in a tool perspective view (workspace view). Also, use the new tool orthogonal view to create drawing views that can be easily manipulated using a mouse. (video: 1:34 min.)

Freehand tool options: Easily rotate, scale, and translate with the new Freehand tool options. (video: 1:09 min.)

Improved Batch Editing

Update toolbars: Easily change the appearance of toolbars without manually replacing tools. Add, remove, and rename toolbars, or create new toolbars
